Amelia's wish
We had a very special visitor pop by to thank the team for raising £270.00 for Amelia’s SDR Wish charity. Amelia is a 4 year old little girl who lives in Brighton and was diagnosed with Spastic Diaplegia Cerebral Palsy at just 18 months old.
Amelia needed a life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) This operation will mean the difference between Amelia being able to walk, run, jump and live an independent life without being restricted to a wheelchair. They managed to raise enough money for Amelia to have the operation at Great Ormond Street as unfortunately the NHS would not pay the £85,000 price tag.
The operation was a huge success and she is now undergoing intensive Physiotherapy sessions. Thank you for the cupcakes and card, Amelia. We look forward to seeing you again soon for more updates. If you would like to read more about Amelia’s story then please visit www.ameliassdrwish.com
